WORKING LANDS INITIATIVE (WLI) PROGRAM

• Working Lands Initiative (WLI) is a partnership between landowners/DNR/USFWS/SWCD/USDA to improve habitat for wildlife while meeting the needs of the landowners.

• WLI projects are targeted in areas with a good wildlife habitat base to build on

• Administered by Yellow Medicine Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD)

• Very limited acceptance

 

ROCK OUTCROP PROGRAM

• Rock Outcrop Program provides landowners with compensation for protecting rock outcrops and enrolling the land into a permanent easement.

• Permanent Easement

• Lump sum payment

• Administered by Yellow Medicine Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD)

• Very limited acceptance
